Position: Independent Reviewing Officer
Location: Market Place, SK10 1EA
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Duration: 6+ Months
Working Hours: 37 hours per week,
Pay Rate: £ 32.12 Per Hour

Job Responsibilities
Chair and manage child protection and looked-after children review meetings
Ensure care plans meet statutory and safeguarding requirements
Monitor the quality and effectiveness of social work practice
Promote the safety, welfare, and best interests of children and young people
Challenge delays or poor practice where necessary
Work closely with social workers, families, carers, and partner agencies
Maintain accurate and timely records and reports
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures
Person Specification
Must-Have Requirements
Qualified Social Worker with relevant social care qualification
Registered with Social Work England
Minimum of 3 years’ post-qualifying experience
Experience working within children’s social care services
Strong understanding of safeguarding and statutory responsibilities
Enhanced DBS check completed or registered on the DBS Update Service
Eligibility to work in the UK
Ability to provide two practice-based references
Availability to start within a 4-week notice period or sooner
Ability to attend an in-person interview
Nice-to-Have Requirements
Previous experience as an Independent Reviewing Officer
Experience working within a local authority setting
Knowledge of Cheshire East Council procedures and systems
Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
